Verifiers
The following organizations have been approved by the California Climate Action Registry to serve as verifiers to California Registry Participants. The companies listed have been verified as experienced firms in providing GHG verification services.
Before signing a contract with an individual California Registry participant, verifiers must also follow the California Registry's policies & process to determine the potential for a conflict of interest.

Verification approval for the listed firms is valid until May 2009. As of June 1, 2009, the California Registry will recognize new verifiers of entity emissions inventories that are accredited by either The Climate Registry (TCR) or the California Air Resources Board. The California Registry will also require verifiers of emission reduction projects to receive accreditation by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to support emissions reduction project activities reported to the Climate Action Reserve.
Consequently, the California Registry does not intend to issue any new request for verification accreditation or for sector-specific accreditations.
ANSI Verifier Accreditation Pilot Program:
ANSI is now administering a pilot greenhouse gas verifier accreditation entity program to be completed by the end of 2008. Once the pilot is complete, ANSI expects to accept applications on a rolling basis. View firms enrolled in the entity pilot program and the project pilot program. As the final step in the application process, applicants must be witnessed while performing a verification.
Both the California Registry and The Climate Registry have agreed to accept a verification opinion from a Verification Body participating in the pilot program as long as they are subsequently accredited. If however, the applicant Verification Body is not subsequently accredited, the reporter/member must repeat verification with an accredited body.
