Welcome to the CARROT -the Climate Action Registry
Reporting Online Tool. This is both a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculation
tool and a reporting tool. It serves as the companion to the California
Climate Action Registry's (the Registry) General Reporting and Certification
Protocols.
The CARROT has four main functions:
- It helps Registry participants calculate their annual GHG emissions
and/or report these emissions to the Registry;
- It allows approved certifiers to review participants' Annual
GHG Emission Reports and submit their certification information to the
Registry;
- It permits the general public to view aggregated reports of participants'
annual GHG emissions and their progress in managing these emissions.
- It enables the Registry staff to efficiently manage and track
participants' data.
To help users become familiar with the CARROT, this demonstration will
walk you through the various features of the CARROT. This demonstration
is geared towards two types of users; "Participant Admin Users"
and "Public Users".
Participant Admin Users are responsible for managing an entity's Annual
Emission Reports. Public Users consist of all interested stakeholders.
Public Users can only view Registry participants' certified aggregated
entity-level GHG emissions data.
For the purposes of the Registry, an Entity is
a member organization. A User is an individual accessing the CARROT application.
A Certifier is a third party, hired by an entity, to review its emissions
reports and verify their accuracy.
At the bottom of every screen is a row of buttons. Use these controls
to play, pause, rewind or fast-forward the demo.
